Apple is back at it with the iPhone and they've increased the battery life. No, they haven't revealed a new iPhone, but they are now making battery cases.
This is the iPhone 6s Battery Smart Case. This case, for now, is only available for the iPhone 6s, since the iPhone 6/6s Plus already have great battery life.
Looking at the design of this product, it's just horrifying. Most people across social media platforms have agreed that this is Apple's worst attempt at making a battery case. As Lew, from UnboxTherapy, said, the battery hump looks like Mount Kilimanjaro and I agree. And as Jonathan, from TLD said, that battery hump certainly does look like a mini iPad stuck in silicone. Straight up though, this design is terrible.
It's not just the design though. This battery case only has a 1877mAh battery (source: MKBHD). Compared to other cases, like Mophie, it's pretty small. Other battery cases features 2000+mAh of juice. Sometimes, people just like to use battery cases as a case and not for extra juice. Other battery cases, such as Mophie, feature ON and OFF toggles. This one? Nope.
Thought the negativity was finished? Lol Nope. This case comes in at a price of $99.99. Are you kidding me? For a battery case that looks rubbish and has only a 1877mAh battery? Oh, plus the fact that if you put the white case in your blue jeans or even black jeans, it'll stain (source: UnboxTherapy). It might feel a bit nicer, at first, but it's not that durable.
Out of a couple of huge drawbacks, there are some positives for this product. Unlike other battery cases, the iPhone 6s Smart Case charges via lightning, not microUSB. In iOS 9, on the 6s, a battery widget tells you how much battery there is that is left in the case, along with how much battery is in your iPhone.
That's basically it. Apple's first attempt at making a battery case was it's worst. The design looks mediocre and for a price of $99.99? Bye.
