Fitbit is one of the most successful fitness tracking companies ever. They create a great fitness tracking environment with their various products. Fitbit Surge was their "smart" fitness tracker. It could alert you with notifications from your smartphone. That's basically what made it smart. It, also, came with fitness capabilities and a heart rate sensor.
The only thing about the Surge was the design. This year, at CES, Fitbit decided to change that aspect, introducing Fitbit Blaze.

Design
Fitbit clearly spent time with the materials of the design. Blaze features a strengthened square-shaped stainless steel frame, which makes it premium and durable. The actual fitness tracker pops out of of the stainless steel frame for customizability (bands). The device itself is water resistant.

Specs
As a fitness tracker, Blaze features fitness technology. A heart rate monitor and multiple sensors track your fitness needs. A colored LCD touchscreen display, Bluetooth 4.0, and a battery that lasts for 5 days, makes Blaze the most versatile smart fitness tracker of 2016, so far.
Unlike in smartwatches, Blaze runs it's own Fitbit-built OS. No skin on top of Android Wear, nor watchOS. It is compatible with both Android and iOS, though. What makes this a "smart" fitness tracker are alerts/notifications. That's basically the smart factor to this device. Calendar alerts, calls, texts. That makes this device strictly towards a fitness tracker and not a mini computer on your wrist.

Bands
An important selling point for fitness trackers and smartwatches are the bands. Apple, Motorola, and Huawei have their own sense of customizability for bands. Fitbit is jumping on the customizability bandwagon.
Blaze features three different bands: Classic Band, Leather Band + Frame, and Metal Links + Frame.
Classic features a silicone band in three color options (Black, Blue, Plum). This is the most common band in all of fitness trackers/smartwatches. Also, this is the only band that is water resistant.
Leather features a premium leather build, coming in three colors (Camel, Mist Grey, Back).
And last, but not least, Metal Links. The links are made of stainless steel (the same material that the frame is made out of). There are no color options. It's just metal.

Sizing
Not all wrists will fit a one size device. Fitbit has understood this concept and is featuring three sizes for the entirety of the device. The sizes are simply: small, medium, and large.
